Motorola Sonar Ø4
The mobile phone company needed an impressive installation which showed information delivery capabilities by means of, at the time, V2 ultimate mobile phone models .The installation meant to be an attractive visual link for the audience, who walked around the spaces between scenes and performances located in the musical event Sonar 2004. Surrounded by classical look frames with a touch of kitsch , we installed some apparent mirrors which captured the audience’s images by means of hidden cameras to give “their reflection” back, translated to ASCII code .The code lines showed in real time the movements the assistants were making , obtaining a surreal result which kept a very attractive relation between the installation and the audience. Finally, one of the photograms captured from each assistant who passed by the installation was sent to their mobile phones, putting to the test the ultimate technology services that Motorola supplies.
